The Centre for Dentistry has a team of friendly, approachable staff based in bright, modern Practices within larger Sainsbury’s stores. They wanted to transform the whole experience of going to the Dentist from a necessary (and scary!) drudgery to an experience that’s enjoyable, sensibly priced and totally transparent on pricing. Putting dentistry in a retail setting gives patients an exceptional quality and good value service, with the benefit of flexible evening and weekend appointments. In short – affordable family dental care with maximum convenience.

The challenges –

As the ground work for this new innovative service was being prepared, Centre for Dentistry chose CST as its I.T. infrastructure partner. The challenge was to design, implement and support a high-uptime, secure and disaster-recoverable solution capable of being supported remotely and rolled-out nationwide. CFD worked closely with CST’s experienced solution design team to create a rugged, secure and closely monitored solution to provide each Practice with a solid platform from which to deliver their unique service. All of this was complemented by CST’s rapid response support package which means technical problems are addressed as quickly as possible and high levels of business continuity are maintained.

Applications –

Centralised email services, Microsoft-based Server Technologies, various Microsoft and Third Party Encryption tools, Remote Monitoring and support tools.

The solution –

Each of the sites runs a number of PCs in a client/server environment, pre-installed with CST’s remote monitoring and access tools for support. Site data is encrypted to a high level and backed up securely, using a combination of Microsoft and third party tools to protect the operating system, data drives and backup drives.

The result –

As Centre for Dentistry expands its business, their focus remains to provide excellent service to their Patients, safe in the knowledge that behind the scenes their technical infrastructure is robust and secure. Their fast growth rate means that CST’s site roll-out procedure has been of great benefit, and when each new site opens they are up and running and ready for business exactly when required.
