St. Mary’s School was one of the earliest establishments to reflect changing Victorian attitudes to the education of women. It was established in 1872 in Paddington London and in 1937 several moves later found its new home in Gerrards Cross.
As a girls’ school they are experts in the education of girls and as an independent school have the freedom to adapt the curriculum to the needs of those girls. They create talented, caring, creative and successful learners who leave the school with the confidence to adapt to the challenges of our increasingly demanding, frequently changing world.
For several years St Mary’s have used the RM Education Software Company to provide the platform for their network and systems and this in turn was being supported by a single member of staff based at the school. As team changes at the school were implemented it was apparent that this model required a re-think and the need for greater resilience within the I.T. department was required. Our challenge was to seamlessly implement a total outsourced solution covering all elements of support and future I.T. strategy.
RM Community Connect 4 (management software for schools), Symantec Backup Exec 2012, Microsoft SharePoint.
CST now provides the school with our total outsourced solution. We supply, manage, monitor and maintain all of the schools systems and work closely with them from a consultancy perspective to consider the school’s technical vision for the future. We have an engineer onsite from 8am until 4pm every week day and monitor the school’s network 24/7 remotely. Recent additions include a complete overhaul of the data and backup processes in addition to a comprehensive review of student safety and security when using technology.
Having removed the vulnerability of reliance on individuals at the school, St Mary’s now benefits from the considerable resources CST provide. Their systems are fully managed and supported on and offsite allowing both teachers and pupils focus on the important business of Education.
